I have not heard any of the other vinyl releases but i cannot imagine that they are any better.

This is a real pleasure to listen to. If you want a cool looking mj picture disc then pick this up but if you are wanting good quality sound buy the plain vinyl or an original. All six of jackson s studio albums from 1979 onwards off the wall 1979 thriller 1982 bad 1987 dangerous 1991 history 1995 and invincible 2001 are included in this series with the last three all double lps. All studio albums 1979 2001 issued as vinyl picture discs.

Btw i am using a 2m black cartridge. If you want a cool looking mj picture disc then pick this up but if you are wanting good quality sound buy the plain vinyl or an original. They have their place and many will tell you that the quality of picture discs have improved over the years. What this mainly leads to is increased surface noise which is most obviously heard in the silence between tracks.

Many picture discs do sound good. I m glad i didn t spend more tha 15 for this i ll be listening to my original thriller album instead of this one for sure. Many fans of vinyl are. I really love how that guitar sounds towards of jillie bean wow.

With picture disc vinyl a vinyl base is laid down then a full size label is placed on top and then a clear wax layer on top that the plates will then be pressed into. If you want a cool looking mj picture disc then pick this up but if you are wanting good quality sound buy the plain vinyl or an original. And in some cases if the mastering was handled better for the picture disc release than it was for the standard vinyl pressing the picture disc can sound better despite the downsides.

Still as artists and labels hop on the vinyl trend some new vinyl releases may be mastered from cd quality audio not the high resolution formats audiophiles and folks like neil young adore. The bass is great every layer of every song is so vivid and fresh. I m glad i didn t spend more tha 15 for this i ll be listening to my original thriller album instead of this one for sure.
